What Causes Delay In Periods And Fatigue Despite Having Negative UPT?

Hi! I was supposed to start my period this past friday. I have not started yet and have done 3 pregnancy tests all resulting in negative/not pregnant. I have been more tired and fatigued than usual and my sense of smell is stronger also. Should I go in for a blood test? What could be wrong with me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since your sensitivity has increased & you feel tired & fatigued you are recommended to take a repeat pregnancy test after a couple of days. Collect the first morning, mid stream urine for pregnancy test. Since hCG appears earlier in the blood than urine you can take a blood test as well. Get examined by your gynecologist & if needed get USG done to confirm pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
