General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Delay in periods can be due to pregnancy, weight disturbances, stress, anemia, PCOS or
Thyroid problems etc. I advise you to:
1. Do serum beta hCG test which is more reliable than HPT or you can wait a minimum of 45 days from your last menstrual cycle.
2. Do thyroid function test and assess you Hb status
3. Nutritious diet rich in protein and iron
4. Consult a gynaecologist for further assistance if any.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
