What Causes Delay In Periods And Light Spotting Despite Tested Negative For Pregnancy?
I had unprotected intercourse two weeks ago. My period was 4 days late but on day 5 I got a pink/brown spotting and my period is so light that I don t need a pad. I did take a plan b but I took it on day six after unprotected sex. I took two pregnancy test and the where negative but with my fist child the hcg didn t show up in my urine so I had to get blood work done.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Ectopic pregnancy can be associated with low levels of HCG thus, you can take up a blood HCG level to confirm or rule out pregnancy. Light pink discharge can also occur during implantation which follows conception. Thus, a missed period and only light pink discharge can be indicative of a pregnancy. Thus, get blood levels of HCG and an ultrasound abdomen for confirmation. Consult your gynecologist for prescription of investigations.
