What Causes Delay In Periods And Light Spotting ?

Hi,I m a female 18 year old and I have been sexually active. I missed my period for almost 4 months and just this morning I used the bathroom and I couldn t tell if I was on my period or not. When I wiped the tissue had a light color red to it, I don t understand.. By the way I took a pregnancy test on the second month and nothing changed so I assumed it was negative.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have carefully read the details you have given.
I didn't understand what did you mean by no change in pregnancy test. Ideally, there would be one line in case of negative test and two lines in case of positive test. If you did not observe any line, then probably the test was performed in a wrong way and it should be repeated.
Please carefully read the instructions given with the test kit and repeat the test.
You should consult your gynecologist if you have negative test and no periods for such a long duration of 4 months.
Hope this will be helpful.
Take care.
