What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Having Negative UPT?

HEllo My period is always on time. I ve never had a delayed. this month I was 8 days late for my period. I was not feeling well. I took 2 pregnancy test they were negative. Last night I was feeling pain down in my stomach and today morning I saw blood on my pee. I don t know if I am having my period or if there is another thing?

Thanks for posting your query.

Occasionally some delay is periods is normal and there need not be any problems in the body . This happens due to hormonal changes that occurs as a result of stress , anxiety or even sometimes due to some food .

But if you had an unprotected sex then pregnancy has to be considered first. Pregnancy test will come positive after 2-3 weeks of conception ( that is 14th day of your cycle ) If taken early it may show false negative.

My advise to you is to wait for a week more and if periods doesn't occur get Serum Beta HCG test done ( more confirmatory blood test for pregnancy ).
