What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Taking Duphaston?

Hi, I have been 3 months off my contraceptive pills (Minerva). Since then I am not ovulating. I tested withLH strips everyday in the last 3 months but no ovulation. Although I am not obese, i have put on about 3-4 random Kilos. I am exercising 3 times a week and am really looking what i am eating. It is due to these very attempts but seeing absolutely no results in the way of losing some kilos is what disheartens me. My Obgyn put me on Duphaston to take daily (2 times) for 10 days leading up to my period. Does Duphaston help with ovulation? If Ovulation begins, then are there good chances of me losing some weight? I am thinking non ovulating has been the only cause for my weight gain and difficulty in losing them. Hi,

Duphaston helps maintenance of pregnancy after conception. It is not concerned with ovulation rather ovulation can be facilitated by loss of weight. The Duphaston brings about bleeding even if there is no ovulation. As you are getting it. So you should get investigated to find cause of failed ovulation, reduce weight and follow specific medication advised by a gynecologist.
