General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
i pill is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs. be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse to effectively prevent pregnancy from happening.
It would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake.
So, it appears from your description that your girlfriend had got withdrawal bleeding, which may reschedule her periods.
Since these are hormonal preparations, it might change the schedule of next periods in some individuals.
Kindly consult Gynecologist for evaluation and management if she doesn't get her periods even after 4 weeks.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
