The delayed periods are due to effect of high dose of levnorgestrel hormone in postinor 2 which disrupts your normal menstruation & causes delayed periods. Your periods may be delayed for 1-2 cycles. An emergency contraceptive pill like postinor prevents pregnancy by inhibiting implantation of fertilized egg on to uterus. It is 95% successful if taken within 24 hours of having sex. As you had taken all two tablets of postinor 2 at a time within 24 hours, pregnancy possibility should be very less. Normal dosage of postinor 2 is one pill as soon as possible after sex. Second pill should be taken 12 hours after first pill. Taking two pills at one time is more prone to have side effects, however effectiveness of pill remains the same. Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive & should not be used as regular method of contraception. You have already taken postinor 2 twice in span on a week or so. This is not recommended. Regular intake of postinor 2 could cause irregular & delayed periods, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome & other harmful effects including fertility. Next time use regular contraceptive pill or condoms for prevention of unwanted pregnancy.
