There are so many reasons of late menstruation . One very important reason in sexually active young female is pregnancy .that is ruled out by pregnancy kit test but if you have unprotected sexual intercoure you can check hcg level by blood test that is more sensitive and specific At this time ultrasound can also detect pregnancy if any.apart from this few important reasons are excessive exercise .,low body weight , obesity , stress ,few drugs.along with this few conditions such as PCOD , fibroid uterus , hypo or hyperthyroidism can cause menstrual abnormalities . For this you need to consult a gynaecologist .
