What Causes Delay In Periods?

In 5 months ive only had sex one time which was dec 19th.. My menstural cycle is pretty regular comin usually the last week of ,every month.. my start date b4 sex was nov 27.. I didnt have my next one till jan 1. It was lighter but still looked to be a menstural cycle.. I am now currently late and by calculations 7 days.. Is it even possible for me to be pregnant..

Hi! thanks for writing to us!

As per your description and sexual history I would like to comment that there is NO chance of pregnancy as you have had period after 19 th December (physical relation); however, delay of periods by up to 15 days could be seen in few circumstances like inter-current illness, hormonal problems like thyroid hormones, prolactin and polycystic ovaries etc...

Therefore please wait for 7 days more and if bleeding do not occur, please see a gynecologist for ultrasound of lower abdomen to determine the cause..!
