What Causes Delay In Regular Periods Along With Abdominal Cramps Post Childbirth?
Hello... I am 32 years old and just had a baby few months back... The baby is 5 months old and I reduced my breastfeeding sessions from 6 a day to 2 a day over the period of a month.. Recently I started experiencing severe cramping and pain randomly at night... This has happened twice up til now... I haven t yet got my period since I delivered... Is this cramping normal? How long will I have to wait for my periods to start? Should I go visit my OBGYN? Thanks!
Hello I appreciate your concern After the child birth usually it takes 3 to 6 months for periods to occur if you are breastfeeding regularly. Since you have completed 5 months and started getting cramps this could be related to premenstrual symptoms
Here I would like to know whether you had unprotected sex during this period? If yes, than you should do urine pregnancy card test which can be done at home and it comes positive only after 10 to 14 days of possible conception
In my opinion you should book an appointment with gynaecologist as per your convenience, for physical examination and investigation to find out the cause for cramping and delayed period.
Please write back to me if you have any more doubts I will.be happy to help you
