What Causes Delayed And Light Period After Having Unprotected Sex?
Hi, so I usually have a heavy period and I been having a lot of unprotected sex but I haven t for a while now and my period was 4 days late, but this time it was light? And I usually get my period for like 6-8 days but this time it was only 4 days and at the end of day 2 beginning day 3 a bit of blood would only come out when I d wipe, but nothing on my pads. At first it was brown then actual blood and then light red/pinkish. I took a pregnancy test but it came out negative. But I took it a couple days before my period. So I don t know what to do now.
Period flow can vary depending on diet, activity and stress level. However, unprotected sex can result in pregnancy and there is possibility of falling pregnant. The light bleeding you experienced could be an "implantation bleed." My advice is you keep note of the dates of your period on your calendar and see your family doctor / attending physician. It is likely that they will repeat a pregnancy test in a couple of days. I'd recommend that you do a blood test for serum beta-HCG and undergo an ultrasound exam. Do you have regular 28-day cycle periods? Have you fallen pregnant before? Have you had any children? Thank you
