General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the delayed mentrual period after discontinuation of Mirena coil and use of Norethisterone is related to altered homeostasis of the hypothalamus pituitary axis for transient period of time. It takes around a period of one menses cycle (around 28 days) to get back the previous rhythm after last dose of Norethisterone and you are requested to use alternative means of contraception for this period.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
