What Causes Delayed Menstruation And Negative Pregnancy Test?
I am 10 days late. I have taken 4 urine test all negative and today a blood test and it was negative. I am having cramping for 3 weeks, nausea, lower back pain, and tender nipples. I have never been late besides with my other pregnancy. I don t know what to do
Pregnancy tests detect the HCG hormone. This can normally be detected by pregnancy tests by day 11 to 14 after conception though some blood tests can pick it up a little earlier.
If the tests were done before this point then it is possible that they are falsely negative but if they were done after this point then they are correct and you are not pregnant.
There are other causes of delayed periods such as: (a) emotional stress or illness (b) abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (c)physical illness (d)high levels of prolactin hormone (e)polycystic ovarian syndrome
These conditions, because they affect hormone levels may also be associated with your other symptoms.
Your doctor can assess for these conditions by examination, hormonal blood tests and imaging of the uterus.
I hope this helps
