What Causes Delayed Menstruation And Negative Pregnancy Test?
I used fertomid for the first time when I had my periods on the 25th of June 2016. My cycle is 28 days and I have never missed a period. Doctor conducted blood test for pregnancy when I was 11 days late for periods and they came back negative. I am confused, could I be pregnant as it now been 46 days since my late period??
Fertomid is the synthetic female hormone estrogen. It can be used in women as a contraceptive pill or if they have ovulatory problems.
Now, as this pill contains the estrogen hormone, it might have altered the normal balance of female hormones in your body. This explains lack of periods.
I do not think it's pregnancy, but hormonal imbalance due to fertomid intake. If this gives trouble to you, should consult with your OBGYN to change therapy or stop current treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
