General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As you age, your hormone levels fluctuate or dwindle resulting in irregular cycles.

To be more specific, I'd like to tell you that as you approach your menopause, your hormones deplete and due to this several changes start happening like your egg quality may be deteriorating or some months, the eggs just don't reach a point where they release, and so a period gets missed.

You need to consult your Gynecologist who will examine you thoroughly before starting treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
