What Causes Delayed Period After An Abortion?

Hi, I took the mifepristone and misoprotol tablets for aabortion. I stayed bleeding same day with severe lower abdominal pain/cramps. They was blood clothing for just that one day and then bleeding without thick cloth for five days.. After that, it stopped. My breasts were still full and hurting and my nipples too.for like a week plus afterwards..All these was done early februrary around the first week..then now it s back to normal. I don t feel pregnant anymore, although I haven t done another test recently to be sure if I m still pregnant or not. Now its march, I still haven t got my period. What may be the cause? Or what may be the problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

The cause is clearly either the medications you took which has caused the irregularity and would be considered normal or pregnancy itself. Do not take a urine test as it may prove to be inaccurate at this point of time.

Get an ultrasound done and confirm/rule out pregnancy.

Best wishes.
