General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
i-pill is an emergency contraceptive pill indicated to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
It causes withdrawal bleeding in the form of periods. Periods can happen anytime within 3 weeks from the day of taking the pill. Hence it can occur a bit early or late, but within 3 weeks.
If it doesn't happen by 3 weeks, you need to seek medical attention.
Once the periods occurs, pregnancy is to be ruled out.
Hope the information is clear.
All the best.
