What Causes Delayed Period And Back Pain When On Metformin For PCOS?

Hi Have PCOS have been taking metformin xr 500mg since February 25th 2016 have had regular periods since being on it. Even before that, thinks last time i had a late cycle was august last year. And now i am a few days late since being on met. Took a test yesterday but negative. I feel normal just not as hungry as usual. And no signs of my period coming like i always get sore boobs, sore lower back, food cravings and bad acne. But have nothing. Should i go see a doctor?

Hello,

If you have PCOS delayed period is a normal event. Taking metformin can't make periods to be on a delay. It would be better if you start using contraception pills to make periods regular.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
