What Causes Delayed Period And Brown Vaginal Discharge?

I have been having pregnancy symptoms. But was waiting til the end of the month to take a test. Then today I had some brown discharge with light cramping. Then I took a test and it was negative. Should I just wait and if nothing further happens take another at the end of the month? Please advise.

Dear thanks for the question.

I share your concerns. I think you have had a miscarriage. You can wait for a week for retesting if there is no bleeding. Or if you want to confirm it earlier you can get an ultrasound scan. Ultrasound scan is the definitive diagnostic test. Ultrasound scan will also help in diagnosing the causes like endometriosis, uterus defects, and in management of miscarriage. As incomplete abortion is a cause of concern.

If you can wait till month end, only go for ultrasound scan as it is one in all diagnostic tool.
