What Causes Delayed Period And Lower Back Pain When Diagnosed With PCOS?
My period is 4 days late. ..i also have polycystic-ovary-syndrome. ..my cycle has been every 28 days for the past few months. . I have been taken spironolactone (100mg).. For 2 months now ..for my tesortone levels. . My lower back is hurting and feels like and my ovaries want to burst. ..so clueless on what is going on. .why i am late...i am never late. .
Of course, spironolactone may cause some menstrual irregularity in about 20% of the cases when used for treatment of PCOS. Rest of the symptoms may be related to low level of testosterone including depression related symptoms due to low level of testosterone.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
