What Causes Delayed Period And Swollen Nipples After Taking I-pill Followed By Sex?

Hi doc, I m 22 yes old and I happened to have sex with my bf in 2nd June..I have also taken ipill within 12 hours.. Last month I had my periods on 15th may..its already 16th June I haven't had my menses yet...my breasts feels tender with swollen nipples and m having slight cramps...should I take a pregnancy test now?..Plz help m very much tensed

Hi thanks for posting on HCM.
The emergency pill may cause an altered period as a side-effect: it maybe earlier or later and also heavier or lighter than usual.
The swollen breasts, cramps are all related to hormonal changes and maybe pre-menstrual.
The best time to check for a pregnancy is 4-5 days (maybe earlier for some) after you have missed your period date, preferably with a morning sample of urine.
If you have any doubts do an ultrasound in about 1-2 weeks.
