What Causes Delayed Period While HPT Is Negative?

hi actually m devyani from delhi......I m 23 I usually get my mensturation by 20th of the particular months dis tym more than 10 days passed still dnt hv it.....I feel some pain in my stomach bt it never happns my mensturation...I have pregnancy test also two times n it was negative so.....plzz advise me that wat should I do now..???

HI,
I understand your concern.
Your periods were regular, only this time it's delayed by 10 days . Pregnancy test is -ve. This can happen due to-
- physical or psychological stress, ill health. & medicines taken .
- If you are on depoprovera - it is known to produce irregular periods.
- PCOD, ovarian or thyroid problem.
* You should go for repeat pregnancy test If this time too it's -ve & you are not on depo-take hormonal pills like Regestrone 1 pill twice a day for 3 days. after finishing the pills, you will get periods in 8-10 days.
- If you get periods, observe the next period . By the time eat healthy, be physically & psychologically tension free.Mostly the perio will follow normally.
* Consult a gynecologist if-
- Irregularity of period recurs,
- there is no bleeding after Regestrone pills.
Doctor would order for few investigations to pin point the cause followed by specific treatment.
