What Causes Delayed Period While On Microgynon?

I have been on microgynon 30 for over two years, and my period is very regular. But today is my fifth day on the seven day break and my period is not here. Over the past two and a bit years it has always arrived on the fifth day and in the morning. I m not pregnant what else could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Please wait patiently for periods for a full week after you stop active pills. The time taken may vary by a couple of days due to other changes in your body or mind. If you have taken the pills regularly at a fixed time there is no chance of conception. If there is no bleeding in a 10 days consult your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
