What Causes Delayed Period?

Hi there,

I had an ectopal pregnancy last year, my menstral cycles have been very regular every 28 days, until now.

I thought I was pregnant- but pregnancy tests all showed negative. My last cycle was 52 days, I wasn't really tracking it so I thought perhaps I had just lost track.

I am again on a 50+ day cycle.

Hypothyroid does run in my family.

Could I be experiencing this as a type of delayed response to the surgery? or should I get into the doctor and have my blood tested?

Hi,

Yes, since it's been 52 days since the last cycle and you still haven't bled, do a blood test serum Beta HCG which is more accurate than the urine pregnancy test. If the test is negative then consult a gynecologist. They will prescribe medicines for your periods to come.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
