Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Polycystic ovarian disease (
PCOD) is a
hormonal imbalance disorder affecting menstrual cycle and ovulation leading to difficulty in conceiving.
However, it is a treatable condition and when medications are given to correct them, there is a possibility of improvement in chances of conceiving.
What medications are given would help to:
1. Regularize your cycles.
2. Help to ovulate in time.
Have patience as it may take certain amount of time for you to conceive.
Along with the medications, you need to reduce weight (if you are over-weight) by consuming diet low in carbohydrates and exercise regularly.
Since you have had
protected intercourse,
pregnancy could be unlikely and delay in periods might be due to hormonal imbalance due to PCOD.
You can take urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
Kindly consult Gynecologist for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
