What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Althea Pills?

Hi. Here s my concern, i take oral contraception for 1yr then stop for three weeks. After that we do unprotected sex then after 24hrs i take emergency contraception and finished to whole pack then take althea pills . But now i dont get my period. Im 1week delayed. Pls answer

Thanks for writing to us.

Basically Althea pill is is 21 days pill with a 7 days tablet free period. You should adopt a barrier method, if performing sex in the first 7 days of the menstrual cycle.

If you are taking regularly, the chance of getting pregnant is very very less. However I would suggest you to check your pregnancy with pregnancy kit at home.
There are chances you may even miss periods, while on Althea pill. Just continue with the next pack of pills, regularly for one more month.
