General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dark brown discharge is usually old blood. It does not mean that there is any abnormality.

It is the blood from your period that you were expecting, which was delayed however.

If you continue to have delayed periods then you may need to check with your doctor to find the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
