What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Blood In Stools?

I have always had regular periods, but after getting off the birth control pill about 8 months ago, there have been at least 2 times where my period has been late. I am currently late with this period, and I believe I am on day 43 and still waiting. I do get blood in my stool at times, but that was checked by a doctor, and he said its due to a hemorrhoid. I am 27 years old. I also took a pregnancy test yesterday, and it came out negative. Any suggestions as to a possible cause, or what I should do? Thank you in advance. Sincerely, Concerned reader
