Hello and welcome to HCM, Delay in menstruation for 7 months has to be investigated promptly. Pregnancy is the most common cause of amenorrhea. I suggest you to rule out pregnancy because it is not uncommon for pregnancy to go un-noticed. If pregnancy is ruled out you need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations. An ultrasound of abdomen is required to assess the status of genital organs and adnexal structures. Hormonal imbalance is the most common cause of delayed and irregular menstrual cycles. Endometrial biopsy/ curettage may also be required to know the status of endometrial glands and stroma. Further management can be planned after all these investigations are done.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
