Hello,
Firstly, it should be understood that which infection is present. Meanwhile, a standard treatment will be started.
Secondly, I would like to suggest some tests and then observing the results, a decision can be taken on delayed periods and treatment can be formulated.
Now, I would like to give you some tests:
1. Lower Abdomen USG
2. Complete Blood Count
3. On the next cycle Day 2 (2nd day of bleeding), following tests have t be done:
- serum FSH, LH
- serum
Estrogen, Progesterone
4.
Thyroid Function Tests (T3, T4,
TSH)
I would also like you to start this medication:
Amoxicillin 500 mg every 12 hours for 7 days
I also suggest some dietary habits. One can naturally control delayed period problems through dietary remedies. Eating hot food always helps in inducing
menstruation on time. One should increase the intake of juices and other fluids. Fruit juices are most highly recommended for timely menstruation especially carrot and grape juices.
Asafoetida should be consumed by the ladies suffering from delayed menstruation on a daily basis. If taken with water on the first or second day of menstruation also helps to provide relief from pain and cramps occurred in the stomach. Ladies should strictly say no to caffeine and alcohol rather should include milk in their daily diet chart. Try eating homemade fresh green leafy vegetables as it helps to regulate your menstruation.
After the Test results come, please post another question with the test result. If there are any problems, we will treat the problem first and if nothing is found, we can easily go for a progesterone regimen for 6 months and after that, we will stop the medicine. This may correct your delayed periods and your periods will be in normal rhythm. But before that, a doctor must see your reports.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
