What Causes Delayed Periods And Abdominal Pain?

Hi I am 2 and a half weeks late on my period and have taken multiple pregnancy tests that are all negative. I feel very uncomfortable in my top and lower stomach. One day I had low stomach pain and pelvic pain. It was sharper at times but mostly dull achy pain. I sneezed and it hurt like a very sharp pain. Now I m feeling a dull tension like pain high in my stomach on the right side. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is not uncommon to have delayed periods which can come up anytime in a person at any point of time without much evident cause. The lower abdominal pain may be related to this however its unusual to have pain over upper part of abdomen with a gynecological cause. I would advise you to get a surgical review done to find out the cause and if needed an ultrasound of the whole abdomen and pelvis to find out the cause for these symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
