What Causes Delayed Periods And Brown Vagainal Discharge?

Hi im 26 year old im facing problem with my periods. Last month my periods got delayed for 15days after that my periods started with brown discharge for 4 days after that my normal periods start which were completely normal. That time i had started regrus exercise. Now i have stopped exercise and this time my periods came on time but for first 5days i had brown discharge then my periods started. First 3 days bleeding was normal on third day i got pain on my lowe abdominal so i took pain killer for that. From 4th day i started having heavy bleeding no pain was there. On my 8th day i consult with my doc she asked me to take pause500 3 times a day till bleeding stops. Now im bleeding small amount but its my 15th day and im still bleeding. I want to know how long this bleeding can extend? And is it safe to take pause 500 3times a day for more than 7 days?

Hello
Firstly,you are not supposed to continue the drug Pause without consultation of your gynaecologist.
Your main problems are delayed periods,brownish discharge before periods,prolonged heavy bleeding.
These symptoms may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease/dysfunctional uterine bleeding(hormonal imbalance in body)or Polycystic ovary syndrome.
Brown discharge can be usually seen in delayed periods,brown colour due to old residual blood of previous months menses.Cause among above mentioned possibilities can be ruled out using certain investigations like blood hormonal levels,vaginal/cervical swab ,USG pelvis.
PID is treated by antibiotic course of cipro/azithro for 7-10 days.
PCOS /DUB requires treatment with oral contraceptives.
Iron supplementation adviced against anaemia.
Keep body weight within control.
