What Causes Delayed Periods And Brown Vaginal Discharge?
Hi!
I just came off a week long (late) period, and now I am noticing little brown flecks in my discharge. Also, it has a smell that is alarming to me because I have never smelled it before. It is definitely off putting... I recently became sexually active and also started taking Birth Control a little over a week ago. No pain or itching, but the smell and small skin like flakes are scaring me. Boyfriend has been tested for STDs and everything was negative. Any ideas?

I have read and understood your concern.
Many conditions may explain your symptoms.Some possible causes may include:
-Side effect of pills since you just started with them
-Bacteria vaginosis
-Pregancy though less likely if you take your pills well
I will advise you adopt good genital hygiene and observe. If discharge persist, you see the Doctor for examination.
As for missed period, i will advise you take a pregnancy test.If it come negative, then just be calm as it is due to your pills.
