What Causes Delayed Periods And Nausea?

I have had a mirena now for over two years. I never really have had problems with it but the last month I havent had a period. I have been feeling very tired and have had two spells of fainting. I do work two jobs and my eating and sleeping habits are not what they should be. I am scared I might be pregnant again.

Hi,

According to your description the possible causes of your missed period are:
- Delay in periods can occur due to many causes. Change in diet and sleep and having stress and string are few of them.
- While using hormone containing intrauterine contraceptives like Mirena also some amount of menstrual irregularities can be seen.

If you want to rule out the possibility of pregnancy, please go for a blood test for pregnancy, which is more accurate than urine pregnancy test. In blood test if the serum beta HCG levels are less than 5 mIU/mL, it rules out the possibility of pregnancy. You can continue with Mirena irrespective of the menstrual period. Taking regular balanced diet and adequate sleep, regular calories burning exercises can help in regularizing the menstrual cycles.
