Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 48 years old, I have missed a period and have done three urine pregnancy tests all came back negative, did a blood hcg and came back at 19 a week ago today, also had u/s and they cant confirm either way, although they did see a small spot but could not confirm. Repeated HCG one week later now at 1. I have had no bleeding or cramping. What could this mean?
Missing period and spotting at the 48 years of age can indicate the start of menopause. This is the time when periods become irregular before they disappear permanently.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
