I usually start my period on or around the 2nd of every month with my cycle being 29 to 30 days. In January I had a normal period from the 2-5 then on the 30th of January I woke up spotting a little that morning and it stopped mid day but it is now February 16 and I havent had a period. what could cause this? I should mention my breast are not extremly sore but the are a little tender around the nipple area.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Menstrual irregularities are common in young and adolescent girls. Before stamping it to a normal scenario, we have to rule out the other pathological causes.
Usually stressful life, improper food, and sleep, infections can cause irregular periods. Other pathological causes of Dysmenorrhea are Endometriosis and Uterine fibroids.
To rule out these causes, consult a gynecologist and get properly examined by her. Besides that, if you are taking any birth control pills, then it also can cause menstrual irregularity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
