What Causes Delayed Periods Despite Taking I-pill Post Unprotected Sex?

hi sir, my gf take i pill after having sex on 7th Nov however i am sure that sperm were not went into vagina because I throw it outside . bt for further precautions she take ipill . After dt she got her periods in mnth of Nov and Dec bt in Jan she didn t get her periods till nw. her supposing date for periods is 26 Jan bt nw its 7 Feb n she didn t get her periods so is there any chances of pregnancy.

I pill also causes menstrual irregularity like delayed periods, inter menstrual spotting. So delay in periods can be occur in future in some cases

I pill reduces the chance of pregnancy by 89% if taken within 72 hrs of unprotected intercourse. So for confirmation that you are not pregnant get a urine pregnancy test with early morning urine sample.
If pregnancy test is negative, wait for a week for spontaneous onset of periods. If still no periods, you can take progesterone tablet to get withdrawal bleeding.

A normal menstrual cycle is dependent on the interaction hormones, including oestrogen and progesterone produced by the ovaries as well other hormones produced by the pituitary gland.
If any of these hormones are not produced in the correct amounts this can disrupt the cycle and cause problems like missed period.


But my best advice is that again consult with your doctor.
Test your hormone profile- Estrogen, Progesteron, FSH, LH, HCG
If necessary do USG.
Do relaxation exercise and yoga whatever you like.
