Hi,
Delayed periods can be caused by a variety of factors, including
hormonal imbalances, stress, changes in weight, medication, and underlying medical conditions such as thyroid disorders and
polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Meprate (
medroxyprogesterone) is a medication commonly prescribed to induce periods in women with irregular or absent menstrual cycles. However, it may take several days after completing the course of medication for the period to start.
If your period has not started after completing the Meprate course, you should consult with your doctor again to determine the cause of the delay. They may recommend further testing or a different treatment approach.
It is also important to note that Meprate should not be used as a
contraceptive and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. If there is a possibility of
pregnancy, it is important to take a pregnancy test and consult with a healthcare provider.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
