What Causes Delayed Periods In A Woman With Hashimoto S Disease?

Hi, I have Hashimotos disease. I do not take any meds to treat it.My TSH was last tested 7 months ago and it was above 5. My period is 30 days late. I have taken 2 home pregnancy tests and both are positive. My husband has had a vasectomy 9 years ago. What are the chances I am really pregnant?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Urinary pregnancy tests are not 100% reliable.
There are chances of false positive results.
So better to get done ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule out pregnancy.
If it is negative then no need to worry for pregnancy.
Your irregularities in menses are mostly due to hormonal imbalance.
Hormonal imbalance is commonly seen with hashimoto 's disease.
So consult gynecologist and get done hormone levels. You will need hormone pills to regulate your hormones.
Once your hormones are normalize, you will get regular menses.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
