What Causes Delayed Periods Post Intake Of I-pill?
hi, my gf get her periods between 5th-8th of every month, but in this month, its 12th but she have not yet got her periods. After her last periods within 5-10 days we had a sex but the condom was torn so she took an i-pill immediately and she saw a very lighter bleeding for two days after taking an i-pill. We again had a sex after this(without condom) but i didn t ejaculate in her vigina and i am sure about it, and in this month she was expecting her periods before 8th, but its 12th now and she cant see her periods. i am worried if she is pregnant. please help and if she is, how can she avoid a pregnancy?

I-pill, containing 1.5 mg of synthetic progestin, Levonorgestrel.
It is intended for the following uses:
1. Unplanned intercourse in couples that are steady or married;
2. Failed measures of contraception
3. In sexual abuse, rape or incest;
For this emergency contraception to be effective, it is necessary to take one 1.5 mg pill of Levonorgestrel on a single day and within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
Best results are seen when Unwanted 72 is taken quickly, within 72 hours of an event, as it takes 72 hours after fertilization for a woman’s body to produce a pregnancy. The level of protection provided by Unwanted 72 is as follows:
If taken
- within 24 hours – up to 95% effective
- within 24 to 48 hours – 85% effective
- within 48 to 72 hours – 58% effective
If a woman should vomit after taking it, it is recommended to repeat the one time dose for effectiveness in pregnancy prevention under the direction of a healthcare provider.
So it may be ineffective in 5%.
But due to i pill causes late period due to hormonal imbalance.
It will come if you are not pregnant.
So do not worry it happens.
If not occur just check for pregnancy.
