What Causes Delayed Periods While On Primolut N?

I did TVS and the doctor said I have pcos and he prescribed primolut N and Clomid for me, but since I started taking primolut I haven t seen my period (I have been experiencing cramp at my lower abdomen) because according to my doctor, he said I will start taking clomid once I start seeing my period on the second day of my circle. Please doctor I want to know when I will start seeing my period, I started taking primolut N for days now and I have not seen my period.

Hi,

I can understand your concern. Primolut N contains Norethisterone as an active ingredient. It acts by increasing the progesterone hormone level in your blood. This hormone does not let the uterine lining break and so menstruation cannot occur until you are taking these medicines.

You must have been prescribed certain number of pills of Primolut N by your doctor. Menstruation occurs after 2-3 days after stopping the pill and then you can start on Clomid on second day of menstruation. If menstruation does not occur in 5 days after stopping Primolut N, you should contact the prescribing doctor again.
