What Causes Delayed Periods While Suffering From PCOS?
Have pcos but always had regular periods. Started ovacare 18 days back for acne and now periods are delayed by 8-9 days. What could be the reason? Saw a lot of questions with the same query where patients are reporting delayed periods post starting ovacare
Hi, I think in pcos patients, there is absence of ovulation which leads to delayed periods. If you are sexually active, do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first. If negative, you can take some medicines like meprate or deviry for inducing periods. Also get a thyroid profile and prolactin level done to find if there is any other problem associated with pcos.Occasionally it can happen but if it happens again or frequently, you may need some hormonal treatment. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
