What Causes Delayed Periods While Suffering From Typhoid?
Hi my name is Divine i was diagnosed with typhoid last month and i missed my period. Though my period does not have a specific date it comes but last month it didn't come at all Can it be due to the anti biotic I took when I was sick or what else can be the cause.
Hello and welcome to HCM. I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Typhoid infection is less likely to cause delay in periods. It is normal for period to variate between 7-9 days of expected date of period(menses). Delay is when the periods donot come beyond this frame of 7-9 days. Causes of delay of menses may be pregnancy/stress/obesity/overexertion. Other common medical causes can be thyroid disorders or PCOD. I advise you to consult a gynaecologist as proper medical history will be required.Investigations like urine pregnancy test(if married),USG pelvis, thyroid profile will be needed. Practice regular yoga, meditation and have healthy diet for destressing yourself.
Hope I answered your query. Any further query is welcome.
