Hello, thanks for writing in.
The commonest worry with delayed periods is usually a pregnancy.
However there are other causes- thyroid abnormality, polycystic ovarian disease, major stressor event, significant weight loss, to name a few and less commonly premature ovarian failure.
Please talk freely to your doctor about undergoing a basic workup.
Do not worry, medication is available to treat this problem- usually related to a hormonal imbalance.
Hope this is helpful.
Do write in again if any further questions arise.
Take care.
