Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Normally my period comes the 11-13th of each month. In April I didn t have a period. I took 2 pregnancy test they both said no. My period came on May 3rd & it was normal. It is now June 12th & I haven t had a period. Is my body going back to the old cycle or should I be concerned ?
It is likely that it may be continuing to be irregular and you may want to consider seeing your doctor for assessment.
Irregular period can have different cause such as: (a) abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (b)emotional stress or illness (c)high levels of prolactin hormone (d)physical illness (e)polycystic ovarian syndrome (f)inadequate diet (g)excess physical activity (h)side effect of medication
Your assessment may consist of blood tests such as thyroid hormone, prolactin hormone, FSH/LH/testosterone (used in the diagnosis of polycystic ovarian hormone). Imaging (ultrasound) to take a look at the uterus/tubes/ovaries may also be needed.
I hope this helps
