Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So I m 18 and ended up having unprotected sex with my bf on the 16 and only had the chance to take a morning after pill on the 18/19(since it was two pills that should be taken. The second 12-24 hours after the first pill). My period was suppose to come on the 30th of this month but it is two days late now. I ve been kind of stressing and freaking out about the possibilities since I know I m not ready and that my family would look down on me and be ashame of me. Could I be late because of me stressing or because I haven t had sex 6/7 months before this situation?
As per your history, you need not be so much stress, because one of the reasons for delayed periods can be stress and worry.
For confirmation, you can take a home pregnancy test after 5 days of missed periods. If you are negative and still due for periods then you can take a blood test and ultrasound after gynecologist consultation.
Till then keep your self well hydrated and do some exercises. Avoid stress.
Hope I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale, Family and General Physician
