PATIENT discharged from nursing home to home today. She has been home six hours and has not urinated, drank glass of tea and half a glass of water. She states she needs to urinate but nothing happening. I am instructing to give her a bottle of water to drink and see what happens. How long should she wait if she still does not urinate?
Hi I think she might be suffering from an urinary track infection. Give her a pain reliever to help with pain while urination. Also use tea or juice of cranberries. Keep her under observations . If it still continue she needs catheterisation. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
