What Causes Densities In Right Upper Lobe When Diagnosed With PTB?
Hi Doctors. I just want to ask if what is the meaning of being diagnosed of PTB; undetermined activity. The finding says that there are densities in my right upper lobe. It was so shocking because I don t have any history of smoking and previous problem regarding my lungs since I do yearly Chest Examination. I am 24 years old and this is the first time in my life that I had this Chest Xray result. I am worried. Hope you can help me.
Chest X-ray findings showing densities in upper lobe of liver strongly suspects pulmonary tuberculosis. It may not be have been symptomatic till now. Also it does not necessarily you be a smoker to get this disease.
Anyway, you need not be worried much about your problem as pulmonary tuberculosis is treatable effectively.
If you have cough with expectoration, kindly get your sputum tested for Acid Fast Bacilli (AFB).
You need to to visit nearest center for tuberculosis treatment. It will be a combination of tablets which you need to take for a period of 6 months continuously. Once the course is complete, you will be again evaluated by means of chest X-ray.
Hope the information provided will be useful. All the best and wish you good health.
