What Causes Dent At The Back Of Top Of Head?

I have always had a dent at the immediate back of the top of my head - like where I would wear a ponytail etc. If I press on it or wear my hair up too long I have quite a bit of pain. Is that something that I should be concerned about? I have also noticed that it seems to have grown bigger with age. Something else that worries me....

Hi,

I wouldn't expect pain there. Cannot say much without an exam. People have different shaped heads BUT that particular area is where there is a hole in infancy to allow the skull to grow. It fuses together during childhood. It does not get painful, so other possibilities such as a bone disease are possible.
